Welsh Rarebit featuring Hells Breath Worcestershire Sauce

  • 375g tasty cheese, grated
  • 30g butter
  • 2 teaspoons plain flour
  • 1/2cup liquid - milk, beer, or a mix of both
  • 2 teaspoons Hells Breath Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 8 slices of bread
  • sweet paprika


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat. Add the flour and stir for a minute. Don't allow this mix to brown. Add the liquid stirring continuously until it has thickened.

    Add the grated cheese, and keep stirring till melted and smooth.

    Add the Worcestershire Sauce and egg and beat till combined and smooth.

    Toast the bread on one side, spread the Welsh Rarebit over the untoasted side and put under the grill till golden.

    Sprinkle with a little garnish of sweet paprika and serve.
