Hells Breath is a small business based in Melbourne. We produce a range of hand-made chilli and spice products for people genuinely interested in food and creative cooking. It all started by making Chilli Relish for friends, then experimenting with other lovely flavours. Quickly, along came the Chilli Mustard followed by the Chilli Jam and it just kept on growing. Jennifer, the person behind Hells Breath, is a real foodie and loves browsing around all things to do with food so the range keeps developing.

Using the wonderful array of spices from around the world, the Hells Breath range of condiments includes sauces, relishes and pickles. And, to demonstrate the wonderful diversity of chilli and spices, there is also a chilli and lime cordial, wasabi butter, moroccan marinade and chilli oil.

Hells Breath is genuinely handmade in a kitchen – not a factory. As a specialty range, you won’t find Hells Breath in the big supermarkets - only from specialty food outlets and at weekend markets where you can meet the maker and have a chat.

“This time I'd like five of the large Harissa jars. I've got my friends onto it and they love it.” Melissa By choice, Hells Breath selects Australian grown products wherever available but some of the spices in the recipes are only available as imported product. We have a commitment to recycling whatever materials can be from the kitchen and have a policy of not offering plastic bags at the markets.



Niue is a tiny little South Pacific island producing some of the finest, fragrant vanilla beans around. Hells Breath had the opportunity to visit and experience the growing and processing - a genuinely hands-on experience with instruction on the technique of hand pollination. These beans are superb quality and divine flavour for your favourite desserts. Next time you visit the Hells Breath market stall, come and savour a little bit of Niue.
